Hello Beauties,
Today I am going to be posting a review for each of the products I received from the Skin 18 Reviewer's package. If you haven't heard of Skin 18, you should know that they are a wonderful curator of Asian skincare products and a monthly mask subscription. Their belief and goal is to sell high quality skincare products that will have your face and skin looking and feeling as if you are still 18 years old. Their skincare products include companies from all over Asia including Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. They are also a unique company in that they encourage bloggers and beauty reviewers to apply for their reviewer program. I was lucky enough that they did approve me and sent me a package that included five different items that I have never tried before. I will be including my honest, unbiased reviews of each of those items below despite having received these for free.
Four Season Red Ginseng White Clean Active Mask
This mask is supposed to whiten (brighten) your skin while adding nutrients and moisture. In addition to the above, this mask will leave your skin shiny and regenerated. This mask featured a strong herbal ginseng scent with a slight hint of carrot. If you don't like strong scents or the scent of ginseng I would steer clear of this mask but I found it to be very pleasant and refreshing. This mask was absolutely dripping with excess essence. I had enough to spread over my neck, collar bone, arms, and legs. The mask fit was okay, just a little big for my small face. The mask is made of soft cotton and very easy to manipulate and adjust while on your face.
I'm extremely happy to report that my sensitive skin experienced almost no tingling or irritation. There was only a brief moment where the skin near my eyebrows felt a little irritated but that quickly dissipated after a minute with no further reactions. I was able to leave the sheet mask on for roughly 45 minutes before it began to dry out. The essence left a slightly tacky finish. In the morning I noticed that my skin was soft, slightly plumped and had a nice healthy glow. I would definitely recommend trying this because it is an effective, multipurpose mask. I would easily purchase this mask
Luke Hydrogel Eye Patch
These hydrogel eye patches from Luke are supposed to minimize puffiness underneath your eyes. These hydrogel eye patches come in two individual pads each with their own clear plastic backs. These patches have a very light, floral-sweet, pleasant scent. I could not smell this pleasant aroma while I wore them. These patches has lovely sticky backs that allowed them to stay on throughout the night. AS soon as I put them on there was an instant cooling sensation that I found to be extremely refreshing and relaxing. This cooling sensation lasted about 15-20 minutes. Despite my sensitive skin, I experienced no irritation, tingling, or burning sensation while I wore these eye patches.
Whenever I test eye patches or wear my favorite, I always insist on leaving them on overnight and removing them in the morning. When I woke up the next morning and removed them I instantly noticed that the chronic puffiness around my under eye area was dramatically reduced by these eye patches. I didn't see any brightening effect (not that the package claimed that it would have any). Even my little eye wrinkle seemed plumped and moisturized from these eye patches. I was very impressed with the results and can't wait to buy a bunch of these. These eye patches are extremely affordable through Skin 18. I highly recommend these to anyone who suffers from chronic puffy under eye circles.
Luke Charcoal Nose Cleansing Strip
This nose cleansing strip is supposed to use charcoal in order to purge your nose of impurities, gunk, and black heads. This nose strip is medium sized that came with a clear adhesive backing. The strip appeared to be really sticky when I first tried it but when I put it on my nose it lifted up at the edges and refused to stay down. There was a slight earthy scent to the strip that I found to be pleasant. I left this strip on for 30 minutes and removed shortly afterwards since the material had gotten stiff. When I pulled the strip off I saw only one or two white spots from where the strip has successfully removed gunk from my nose. There were still quite a bit of areas that if I pushed on gunk and black heads would comes to the surface. This nose strip did leave my nose feeling extremely soft with no sticky residue. I was informed by a couple of my Korean beauty friends after trying this product that I am supposed to moisten my nose in order for the product to really work well. I have to give this product a non conclusive neutral review since I didn't realize you were supposed to do that . Based on the results I did get without moistening my nose I would like to try it again and use it properly especially since it is also inexpensive on Skin 18's website.
Foodaholic Potato Natural Essence 3D Mask
This mask utilizes potato extract to moisturize and soothe your skin even after sun tanning. It is also supposed to easy stress on your skin and help with elasticity. This was not an easy mask to put on and was the first time I have ever tried a 3D mask. The fit was not very good at all. It was too long for my nose, too small for my mouth and didn't adhere were to the edges of my face. I felt as if the mask was constantly being lifted up with too many lines and wrinkles for me to continue smoothing out. I can smell the scent while wearing the mask. My sensitive skin did not experience any burning or tingling sensations. If left this mask on for an hour before it dried out. When I woke up the next day, my face was very soft, moisturized and slightly plumped. I was happy with the results but not with how the mask fit. My sensitive skin did not experience any burning, tingling, cooling or irritated feelings while wearing this mask. I left this one on for about an hour before it dried out. I would recommend this product based on the soft, moisturized and plumped skin results but not based upon the fit of the mask.
When I woke up my face was very soft and moisturized. I also noticed a slight plumped effect for my skin. I was happy with the results for this mask but not at all with how it fit.
Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Blackhead 3 step kit
This is a 3 step kit that is supposed to help you remove black heads from your nose. Step one is supposed to easily help remote black heads by opening your pores. You are supposed to leave this nose strip on for 15-20 minutes. The nose strip from step 1 is a soft cotton nose mask that is made of cotton and is entirely soaked with essence. This nose strip smells strongly of lemon. For those of you who don't like strong scents or the aroma of lemons I don't recommend this nose strip. I find lemon to be a very refreshing scent. After applying this on my nose, I noticed an instant cooling sensation. It adhered and easily fit the contours of my nose. There was a 1/2 tap of extra clear, watery essence left in the package. The cooling sensation lasted with the same strong intensity for about 10 minutes. Around 15 minutes the mask began to dry out so I added the remaining essence from the bag which reactivated the cooling sensation. I left this mask on for a total of 25 minutes and then removed it. The instructions say to slow remove the mask and wipe off any black heads. My nose looked brighter but I didn't notice any black heads removed and left on the surface of my skin.
Step 2 is intended to remove black heads. The package instructions dictate to wet my nose and then leave this mask strip on for 10-15 minutes. The step 2 nose mask was velvety on one side with a clear, protective backing on the sticky side. This easily applied onto my moistened nose and fit the contours of my nose easily. After 15 minutes, I noticed the mas kstrip became very hard. The instructions say to remove the strip from the edge slowly. This felt as if I was removing a wax strip and was painful in certain spots. White heads and gunk were removed and found on the peeled off strip. My nose was very red after removing the strip. I do feel as if it didn't remove some of the gunk from the pores on my nose.
Step 3 is supposed to minimize the size of your pores. You are supposed to leave this mask strip on for 10-15 minutes. This mask is a clear hydrogen strips that has slightly slimy essence. It comes with a pearl protective backing. This one didn't fit the contours of my nose as well as the first two step masks did. It was slightly cool to the touch but not nearly as much as Step 1. It has a slight scent to it but it isn't very strong. The essence leaves a smooth, silicone like texture with whatever it makes contact with. The essence from the hydrogen didn't absorb well into the strip and started dripping down my nose. I didn't notice too much pore shrinkage since my pores are quite large. Overall, I really enjoyed this three step kit and found it to be very luxurious and effective. I would buy this product from Skin 18 because of how effective it was.
Overall, I was incredibly happy to have received this reviews package from Skin 18. This was a perfect way to evaluate products. I think out of all 5 of these masks my favorite would be the Luke Hydrogen eye patches. I can't wait to buy some of those. Thank you again Skin 18! Have any of your beauties tried any of these? What are your feelings on the products you've tried from this stash? Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more detailed reviews.
